Innovation Labs 2022 Demo Day - from today’s ideas to the startups of the future

Innovation Labs 2022 Demo Day event marks the end of the 10th edition of the national pre-acceleration program. The event took place in Bucharest, on July 25, at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, where 15 teams passionate about technology and digital innovation presented their projects on which they worked throughout the last 4 months.

Innovation Labs is the largest University-driven pre-acceleration program in Romania, that helps young people who are passionate about technology and innovation, turn their ideas into reality - and furthermore into successful startups. You can participate if you don’t have an idea, a team, or a business, you can find an already formed team in which you can work together at developing a functional MVP for an already existing idea. They presented their pitch in front of a well-prepared jury and enthusiastic audience, both online and offline.

At the Innovation Labs 2022 Demo Day, two teams from Timișoara: Morpheus and Blume Technologies were also qualified.

Morpheus is an identity verification solution that allows online platforms to verify the identity of users through gestures, and fingerprints. Everything is verified on the blockchain so that the user's signature remains unique and cannot be replicated.

Blume Technologies wants to make crosswalks safer by alerting drivers to the presence and intent of pedestrians. Based on Machine Learning and Computer Vision algorithms, the system consists of video surveillance of pedestrian crossings, analyzing the video feed, detecting pedestrians and predicting their behavior, and then alerting drivers through LED panels. The main customers are public authorities and real estate developers.

We congratulate the winning team, Manuscrito, who developed an app that helps children learn to write by hand, read and do math exercises. The app uses artificial intelligence algorithms to understand the learning needs of kids, including the special needs of children with disabilities and will be available on tablets, perfectly combining their desire to spend time in the digital world with the need to learn. Also, we congratulate dMonitor for Spinoff of the year, CodeTruck for Startup of the year, Vaunt for Scale-up of the year and Juridiq for The Best Pitch.

To support the teams from Timisoara this year and to make up for the last year's experience when the pandemic context didn't allow them to properly showcase their product to the community, two of the teams that qualified last year in the Demo Day Back to Earth grand final were also present: AIMinded and CleverEat. Also, presented at Startup Fair was Habity Studio, which created an app designed to motivate people to stick to their daily activities and encourage them to complete every task they have to do.
